Warhol

Brooke and I wandered around the Warhol exhibit at the GRAM on Saturday. It featured several of his well-known pieces (Campbell's soup cans, et al), but I was surprised by the gravity of some of his more serious work. His pictures of an electric chair, a bridge jumper, and civil rights era violence were quite moving for an artist who boasted of his superficiality. Below he captures the many faces of Jackie Kennedy during the days surrounding her husband's assassination.
