Nashotah House

Founded in 1841 as an Anglican mission on the American frontier, Nashotah House is the oldest degree granting institution in Wisconsin. The academic dean was nice enough to offer that bit of trivia when we met outside his office on Saturday. Chris is thinking about attending seminary there in the fall and we wandered around the campus this weekend. The staunchly Anglo-Catholic school is surrounded by winding country roads, cornfields, woods, and Upper Nashotah Lake. And while the sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds by the time I pulled out my camera, don't let the pictures fool you-spring was definitely in the air. It was whispering to the barren branches, promising the warm rain that will pool in the fields' furrows, demanding the thin ice skimming the lake make its final stand.
